Where: Rear Ends, West Bloomfield, Michigan
What: David Arquette, Propr attire clothing line promotional appearance and fan meet-and-greet
The crowd was abuzz as they waited for David Arquette to enter the West Bloomfield, Michigan store where items from his clothing line, Propr, were displayed in stylish array at the front. As soon as Arquette breezed in through the door, the shirts went flying off the rack.
The Michigan shirt was the first to sell out, but we personally love the I Heart Love shirt, another crowd favorite with for it’s bright yellow, summery hue. Arquette graciously signed the T-shirts and posed for photos with fans, a group made up of babies, kids and adults scrambling for their chance to get face-to-face with the star. And for most fans, it was a true face-to-face encounter; Arquette not only signed autographs but chatted with customers, introducing himself to one lucky lady: “Hi, I’m David.”
As if she didn’t know. Arquette’s been a staple in the entertainment business since the 90s, starring in Wes Craven’s Scream franchise as Dewey Riley. In Michigan to shoot Scream 4, (and sporting quite the ‘stache for the role, as he told one fan) Arquette visited the West Bloomfield’s Rear Ends store, about 45 minutes away from Ann Arbor, where Arquette is currently living. Arquette is also an executive producer on wife Courteney Cox Arquette’s show, Cougar Town.
Some fans hoped to see the lovely Courteney Cox Arquette as well. Yet even though she did not make an appearance, not a single person left disappointed with David Arquette or the shirts they purchased.
And how could they be, with the many fun, comfortable designs and various colors to choose from. Arquette tells TheStarScoop.com that the line is “inspired by a lot of vintage detail” and he arrived at the event wearing a blue, brown and white checkered shirt from the Propr line (You can see pictures of that particular shirt by visiting our exclusive interview at www.thestarscoop.com/2010/david-arquette-rear-ends.php).
Rear Ends also carries shorts from the line but the T-shirts were the big hit of the day; a full rack in the morning quickly diminished to only a few shirts left, with most styles sold out in less than an hour and a half. Get your shirt from Rear Ends if you live in the area, or they can ship you one. Call the store at (248) 626-4333 and don’t forget to check out Propr at www.proprclothing.com
