Phone: (323) 570-1077 Email: info@thestarscoop.com Wed, 23 Mar 2016 01:22:59 +0000 en-US hourly 1 Cole Sand Interview: Being an actor “you can make so many friends!” http://www.yourstarscoop.com/interviews/cole-sand-interview-being-an-actor-you-can-make-so-many-friends/ Fri, 03 Jan 2014 02:29:57 +0000 http://www.thestarscoop.com/?p=6371 THE STAR SCOOP: You get to work with your brother a lot. What is that like for you? COLE SAND: I think that's the only time where we act like true, real big brother and little brother just helping each other out. I think that's the only time you could call us brothers exactly, because, at times, we're the complete opposite. THE STAR SCOOP: You both like acting!]]> cole sand THE STAR SCOOP: You have been working so long! What is it about being an actor that you like so much?

COLE SAND: I like that you can make so many friends! You can also make so many enemies, but you can also make those enemies turn into your friends. To me it feels like a game to play. Which game will I play first? When I get a script, I’m like OK, I’m at this stage. I learn the lines and if I get a callback for it and I get the job, I think, great! On to the next stage.

THE STAR SCOOP: Do you prefer to be in movies or TV shows?

COLE SAND: I like every one. If you say, hey want to act in this? Or, you want to audition for this? Yeah! Of course!

THE STAR SCOOP: You’ve got some different movies in the works. Tell us about the characters and projects you’ve recently started working on.

COLE SAND: I am on a show called “Heart of Dixie.” I just shot my third episode. I will be playing Little Harley on the show. Very exciting. And, I play Henry on “Masters of Sex.”

THE STAR SCOOP: Is there a TV show or movie franchise you would like to get to work on in the future?

COLE SAND: Yes. I would love to be on the Ellen show. I saw this little kid singing on it, and oh man, I wished I was that kid. I really want to be on the Ellen show.

THE STAR SCOOP: You get to work with your brother a lot. What is that like for you?

COLE SAND: I think that’s the only time where we act like true, real big brother and little brother just helping each other out. I think that’s the only time you could call us brothers exactly, because, at times, we’re the complete opposite.

THE STAR SCOOP: You both like acting!

COLE SAND: That’s actually the one thing that we both like. Even though we’re twins, we’re the exact opposite. Jaden would just sit down and read a book, and I would just go outside and play ball for like two hours, and when I come back in, he’s still reading that book. I’m like, Jaden, want to play ball with me? And he says, nah.

THE STAR SCOOP: You’ve been acting for a long time. What do you like to do when you’re not acting?

COLE SAND: I love to play sports and nothing but sports!

THE STAR SCOOP: What’s your favorite sport?

COLE SAND: I only play competitive soccer so that’s my favorite sport to play but my favorite sport to watch would be College football or basketball.

THE STAR SCOOP: Is there anything else we should know about you?

COLE SAND: Let’s see…I am 10 years old and most people would guess I’m seven. I’ve just tested that out. I just got a new pair of glasses and I don’t know if Jaden told you, but I’ve been acting since I was nine months old. I can’t even remember my first job! I can’t even remember yesterday!

THE STAR SCOOP:
You’ve been acting your whole life practically! What is it about acting that you like so much?

JADON SAND:
What I really like about it is the way you become someone completely [different]. It’s so much fun to be able to design a character, bring something new.

THE STAR SCOOP:
You’ve gotten to work on movies and TV. What’s your favorite?

JADON SAND:
Well, I do not have a favorite between commercials, movies, TV and voiceover. They are all so different! And…unique in their own ways, which is very hard to pick which one you want if you like them all.

THE STAR SCOOP:
Tell us about some of the different characters you’ve gotten to play and the roles you are currently working on.

JADON SAND:
Right now, I’m on the Disney Junior. animated show, “Jake and the Neverland Pirates.” I play a little pirate named Cubby who loves coconuts.

I’m also working on “The Lego Movie” but I cannot say my character. He is secret but everyone is going to love him!

THE STAR SCOOP:
Is there something you’re hoping you get to do next?

JADON SAND:
I read this book called “Peter and the Starcatcher” and I heard they were making a movie of it. And they have not cast it yet. So I’m really hoping I can get to go in and audition for it.

THE STAR SCOOP:
Your brother (Cole) is an actor. How do you get along working together?

JADON SAND:
It’s really fun because we don’t really have to pretend we’re friends or pretend we’re related, we actually are. We can just interact naturally and it won’t seem a little bit weird because we are us, if that makes sense.

THE STAR SCOOP:
What do you do for fun when you’re not super busy acting?

JADON SAND:
I usually do a lot of artwork. I love art. I like reading a lot. And I love making movies. I edit them, I film them on my iPad. It’s a lot of fun.

THE STAR SCOOP:
Do you think you want to be a director or a producer or a writer when you’re older?

JADON SAND:
Definitely. Actually, I want to be all three of those when I’m older. I’m gonna be a director-writer-producer!

THE STAR SCOOP:
Is there somebody who is your inspiration who you want to be like?

JADON SAND:
I do not actually study who they are, but if I had to pick the movie that gave me the most inspiration, it would be “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” because they mixed the dark tone and the light tone together.

THE STAR SCOOP:
What do you think is the way to be successful as an actor because you’ve been doing it for so long already!

JADON SAND:
By bringing something new to each character, changing it up a little. Because you can put a better impression on people if you can actually change your personality, which is why I think I’ve done well.

THE STAR SCOOP:
IS there anything else we should know about you? Any interesting facts?

JADON SAND:
My brother and I, when you look at our picture, you might not be able to tell, but, we’re actually twins!

Jaime Zevallos: Indie Actor/Filmmaker – Q&A http://www.yourstarscoop.com/interviews/jaime-zevallos-interview/ Fri, 16 Aug 2013 23:11:50 +0000 http://www.thestarscoop.com/?p=6271

THE STAR SCOOP:
Hi Jaime, thanks for taking the time to do this interview! You’ve got a lot of projects in the works. Tell us more about what you’re up to.

JAIME ZEVALLOS:
Hi, glad to be part of this. I’ve just wrapped a movie with Jonathan Pryce and Maurice Bernard, it was directed by friends and fellow Long Islanders, The Gaudioso Twins. The film is called The Ghost and The Whale. It’s definitely a film to look out for. I play a twisted version of Edgar Allen Poe.

It’s about a man dealing with his wife’s death by communicating with a fictional whale. I’m also very excited about a pilot I just shot a pilot called “Basketball Wife” from the Emmy Award winning producer Michael Ajakwe Jr. Michael’s a mastermind of comedy.

My character is an actor who plays a cop on a TV show. I had an amazing time filming this and working with several TV veteran comedic actors. I laughed a ton during the shoot.

THE STAR SCOOP:
We know “Me, You and Five Bucks” has been really well received. What should people know about this film?

JAIME ZEVALLOS:
It’s not your typical popcorn flick. Not at all. It’s a slice of life film. It makes you have to learn about these characters and be alert as to what’s really going on. It’s one of those film where you will constantly keep asking questions.

THE STAR SCOOP:
You wrote, directed and acted in it. What challenges exist when you have so many roles to manage in one film?

JAIME ZEVALLOS:
The main challenge was lack of sleep and a hectic shooting schedule. Thankfully, I had a great production team behind me and a kick-ass Assistant Director. Getting 4-5 hours of sleep was the only resting time after 16 hour shoot days.

Directors have to be on set the entire time, though, as exhausting as it was, I felt like a kid in a candy store. I was wired and so excited this film was finally getting made. It was surreal.

THE STAR SCOOP:
Have you always been a writer? Or did you start acting and want to branch out into other aspects of the business?

JAIME ZEVALLOS:
It all began with acting and then I slowly began dabbling in writing and reading screenplays. I think I read Annie Hall by Woody Allen and was hooked. I loved that he wrote how people actually speak in everyday conversations.

I believe there is something very naturalistic and intimate about his writing. That aspect of writing is what I like. The chance to share a piece of yourself. It’s really just like acting, if you expose yourself in your work.

THE STAR SCOOP:
What can we expect from you in fall, winter and looking forward into 2014?

JAIME ZEVALLOS:
This fall I will I be acting in “Fear the Night,” a feature film written by Alberto Rodriguez and being directed by Christian Luna. It’s being produced by Suspect Filmworks, a Latino based produced company. I’m excited to work on this, as I studied acting with one of the film’s producers and stars, Manny Hernandez.

I recently acted in my friend’s independent pilot called “Shrader House,” which was produced by Inn-A-Circle Productions. Everyone really seems to be digging this. It’s a show about a group home in Brooklyn. Andre Royo from the “Wire” is also a producer and actor in it. I feel something big is headed our way with that.

I ‘m also acting in a really well written play. I play multiple characters in it. It premieres in Hollywood this September. In 2014 I hope to do a lot more stage work, possibly some in New York. That’s really where my heart is. And of course seeing Me You and Five Bucks in select theaters.

THE STAR SCOOP:
Tell us something we’d be surprised to learn about you.

JAIME ZEVALLOS:
I skateboard almost everywhere.

THE STAR SCOOP:
Thanks again! Any last words or other info you want to share with our readers?

JAIME ZEVALLOS:
Go to Meyouandfivebucks.com for further updates on the film’s release. Oh yes, I wanted to give a shout out to Shahrooz Nateghi and Michelle Gracie for not only being talented actors but also being die-hard producers on this film. These two people are responsible for making one of my dreams come true. I wanted to say to all artists: just follow your gut because it will eventually pay off!

You can find me on Facebook or Twitter.

Harvey Guillen Interview: “The Internship” http://www.yourstarscoop.com/interviews/harvey-guillen-interview-the-internship-and-more/ Sun, 12 May 2013 19:30:58 +0000 http://www.thestarscoop.com/?p=6236

THE STAR SCOOP:
You have the film “The Internship” coming up.

HARVEY GUILLEN:
Yeah! Nationwide – Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, Rose Byrne. It has a great cast and was such fun.

THE STAR SCOOP:
It’s an excellent cast! Were you able to take anything away from working with such a well-established group of people?

HARVEY GUILLEN:
Yeah! It was great. Vince is so professional. He’s a producer and writer on the movie and just so funny. It’s just like watching him do a scene, he’s so good at it, it’s a
little class, watching him.

Owen is just so cool and laid back. These are regular people who are just phenomenal at what they do. I just fell in love with Rose Byrne. I’ve been a big fan
before…and just to work with her, [she’s] the nicest, nicest, nicest person.

I made really good friends with the other cast members like Jessica Szohr and Dylan O’Brien. And Eric Andre, so funny. You couldn’t look anywhere without being
entertained or just learning something from each other. It was awesome just to be on the set every day.

THE STAR SCOOP:
Tell us more about “The Internship” and where you fit into the story.

HARVEY GUILLEN:
It’s Vince and Owen’s characters lose their job and they want to get these internship jobs at Google so they have to go through the process. They apply to be interns at Google and they’re the oldest people there. Most of the of the interns are fresh out of school, and that’s where my character comes [in].

I play Zachary Ryan and he’s still attending Harvard, in his last year. He’s kind of a genius. He’s a genius but he’s also socially awkward in the sense that his clothes are picked out for him by his mom, and [wears] high-waisted pants or shorts [laughs]. He wants to get an internship at Google as well.

THE STAR SCOOP:
Another project you’ve been working on is “Aztec Warrior.” What can you tell us about that?

HARVEY GUILLEN:
“Aztec Warrior” is with Nadine Velazquez from “My Name is Earl” and Luis Guzmán which has become like a father figure to me. He’s the nicest guy. I actually helped his
daughter move into her dorm up her in LA right after wrap.

I learned so much from just watching him. He’s been in the business for so long. He’s in everything! I’m excited for that as well. It’s going to be a really fun film to
watch.

THE STAR SCOOP:
You are also involved in a Youtube series. A lot of actors have been getting involved in online and digital projects. What made you want to be involved in a Youtube series like Up in Smoke?

HARVEY GUILLEN:
What made me want to do anything in the web was my friend Holly. Her character has become a huge, huge sensation and she flies around the world just to show this
character she created. So she convinced me. You can go to Youtube and subscribe to my Youtube page, youtube.com/harveyguillen. It encouraged me to do more on the web side.

THE STAR SCOOP:
We loved “Huge” and were really disappointed when it didn’t continue. It was a couple years ago. Have you grown as an actor since and learned a lot over the last few years that have helped you get where you are now?

HARVEY GUILLEN:
Absolutely. I think that I have learned a lot in the last couple years. Alistair will always be a part of me…such a great character and I loved playing Alistair. I think
Alistair was voted as the #1 male character on the show, which I was like, whoa, blown away when it was on.

People really did relate to Alistair because there is a little bit of Alistair in all of us where we were at once point, shy and scared and scared of trying new things and
scared to be who we are meant to be.

I had such a great experience playing that. My sister on the show was Ashley Holliday and in real life, Ashley is one of my dearest and closest friends now, and one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met.

THE STAR SCOOP:
What would you like your fans to know about you?

HARVEY GUILLEN:
I am writing more. I actually am more on the writing side a lot right now. I just mentioned Ashley Holliday – we’re working on a project together, writing something.
I’m also writing a book, so I’m kind of crossing over into different parts of the entertainment industry just to try different things. Producing, writing and directing…I want to try it all!

Mimi Kirkland Interview: “I liked seeing how movies are made” http://www.yourstarscoop.com/interviews/mimi-kirkland-interview/ Wed, 27 Feb 2013 03:39:32 +0000 http://www.thestarscoop.com/?p=6199

THE STAR SCOOP: Tell us about your character Lexie in “Safe Haven.”

MIMI KIRKLAND: Lexie is a little girl who lost her mother to cancer when she was very young. Because she doesn’t really remember her, she’s been able to stay happy, positive, funny and sassy – unlike her older brother Josh [Noah Lomax]. She loves to play on the beach with her brother and her dad, Alex [Josh Duhamel].

THE STAR SCOOP: What do you like best about playing Lexie?

MIMI KIRKLAND: I could see myself doing and saying things Lexie said and did, so the role was easier to play. She and I are a lot alike!

THE STAR SCOOP: How would you say you are different from her?

MIMI KIRKLAND: Well, Lexie only has one brother and I have two sisters! Also, she had to grow up without her mother around – which is really sad!

THE STAR SCOOP: How did you like working with Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough?

MIMI KIRKLAND: They were awesome to work with on and off the set, we had so much fun!

THE STAR SCOOP: How did you like working on your first movie set?

MIMI KIRKLAND: I liked seeing how movies are made, and working with Josh Duhamel, Julianne Hough and Noah Lomax was so cool. They made my first experience on and off the set a really good one! I’m from Raleigh, North Carolina, so I liked working in Southport since it’s close to home. I hope to visit soon!!! :)

THE STAR SCOOP: What was your favorite part about working on this movie?

MIMI KIRKLAND: My favorite part was hanging out with the Safe Haven cast and crew, and getting to know the people from Southport. Everyone was really nice so it made my first movie experience very exciting. THE STAR SCOOP: What’s coming up next for you?

MIMI KIRKLAND: Right now I’m in L.A. auditioning for roles in film and television. I have been really busy! I can’t wait to start working on my next project.

THE STAR SCOOP: What else should we know about you?

Aiden Lovekamp Interview: “I liked being able to be two different kids” http://www.yourstarscoop.com/interviews/aiden-lovekamp-interview-i-liked-being-able-to-be-two-different-kids/ Tue, 06 Nov 2012 00:43:27 +0000 http://www.thestarscoop.com/?p=6167 Aiden Lovekamp

THE STAR SCOOP:
Hi Aiden! Tell us about how you got your role as Wyatt in “Paranormal Activity 4.”

AIDEN LOVEKAMP:
I went on an Audition for what I thought was the movie “Double Decker.” They had me improve which means make up a story and I guess they thought I did really good.

THE STAR SCOOP:
Tell us more about Wyatt.

AIDEN LOVEKAMP:
Wyatt is a sweet loving little kid that has scary things happen around him when his friend Robby comes over. Wyatt thinks that it is Robby but it’s actually Toby coming to get Wyatt to turn him into a demon. Then Wyatt gets quiet when Toby takes over him.

THE STAR SCOOP:
What was your favorite part about playing this character?

AIDEN LOVEKAMP:
I liked being a nice kid that likes to ride around on his tricycle. I also liked being able to be two different kids. It was so awesome being pulled underwater for 10 minutes. It was also really cool having strong powers to rip the covers off of my sister by looking at the bed and also making her levitate over her bed.

THE STAR SCOOP:
What else should we know about “Paranormal Activity 4?”

AIDEN LOVEKAMP:
It was the best movie to work on and its really scary. I loved the directors, Rel and Henry. They became my best friends and made the movie so much fun to work on. I also became very close with Katie, Brady, Kathryn, Matt, Stephen, and Alexondra. They are like my real family and I love them all so much.

THE STAR SCOOP:
Why do you think so many people liked the movie?

AIDEN LOVEKAMP:
I think because there are a lot of funny parts but at the same time it is sooo scary.

THE STAR SCOOP:
Tell us more about scaring moviegoers with this part – it must be a lot of fun!

AIDEN LOVEKAMP:
It’s hard to make grownups get freaked out so when I see them in the movie theatre screaming and yelling, I just laugh because it’s so funny and awesome.

THE STAR SCOOP:
Do you have any other acting roles coming up or anything you would like to do next?

AIDEN LOVEKAMP:
Yes I have 2 movies coming out. One is “The Time Being” with Wes Bentley(“Hunger Games”) who plays my dad and Ahna O’Reilly (“The Help”) playing my mom. The other is “Lonely Boy” where I play a 4 year old Franky.

THE STAR SCOOP:
What else should we know about you?

AIDEN LOVEKAMP:
In the movie I might look creepy but I’m really not creepy. I like to play soccer and baseball and I love to play video games and hang out with my friends. I’m also the class clown, so I’ve been told. Hey what can I say I like to dance and make people laugh.

Plug In Stereo Interview: Oh, Darling… http://www.yourstarscoop.com/interviews/plug-in-stereo-interview-oh-darling/ http://www.yourstarscoop.com/interviews/plug-in-stereo-interview-oh-darling/#respond Wed, 15 Feb 2012 01:48:41 +0000 http://www.thestarscoop.com/?p=5799

THE STAR SCOOP:
Tell us about the EP, “The Patience EP.” What’s the vibe and sound of the EP?

PLUG IN STEREO (a.k.a. Trevor Dahl):
Each song is definitely different, they all kind of have a different sound, like…indie, folkish sounding rock, there’s another more sort of pop song, so it’s all kind of different.

THE STAR SCOOP:
What can we expect from the full album?

PLUG IN STEREO (a.k.a. Trevor Dahl):
I’m still finishing it up. There’s another 4 songs I have to record. The EP is a lot different than my first album.

I’m really excited for the album. I think that I have more personal songs on the album. They mean a lot more to me, I would say. On the EP there’s a couple songs that mean a lot to me, but there are songs on the album that I’ve been writing for a long time.

THE STAR SCOOP:
The song “Oh Darling” has been a big hit. Why do you think people have taken so well to that song? And what can you tell us about working on the song?

PLUG IN STEREO (a.k.a. Trevor Dahl):
It’s so weird to me because I wrote that song so long ago. We put out a long time ago, and there was no crazy action. People were like, oh, I like the song…it’s cool. And then I got signed and they put it out…and then people started listening to it.

I just wrote it about this girl that I liked and I just had a crush on her. I think that people are connecting to it because everyone has felt a crush or everyone has that, oh, I wish they would like me back and maybe we’d be in love and it’d be great, you know what I mean?

THE STAR SCOOP:
Who has influenced your music and helped shape you into the artist you are now?

PLUG IN STEREO (a.k.a. Trevor Dahl):
I would say a lot of singer-songwriter stuff, like John Mayer and Jason Mraz and Jack Johnson. But I also love more indie bands. I like Colbie Caillat.

THE STAR SCOOP:
Is there anyone in particular you hope to get to do a duet with or work with in the future?

PLUG IN STEREO (a.k.a. Trevor Dahl):
If I could do a duet with somebody, it’d probably be with Taylor Swift. That’d be pretty awesome.

THE STAR SCOOP:
You’ve got some tour dates coming up as well!

PLUG IN STEREO (a.k.a. Trevor Dahl):
Yeah, we do! We’re going out on a six week long tour. That will be awesome.

THE STAR SCOOP:
What is Plug In Stereo like, live and up close?

PLUG IN STEREO (a.k.a. Trevor Dahl):
The new songs are a lot more fun. It’s cool. We kind of play upbeat songs and a couple older songs, and it’s just kind of a fun thing. We play all different styles throughout the set. It’s really chill for the most part.

THE STAR SCOOP:
What do you want people to take away from coming to see you live or listening to your music?

PLUG IN STEREO (a.k.a. Trevor Dahl):
A lot of them, they’re jump around and have fun and just kind of enjoy the dancing. I like it when people enjoy themselves but listen to the lyrics and try to get something from it. I spend a lot of time on lyrics, try to make it mean something. Try to take something bad and try to turn it into something good…maybe change their lives a little bit, you know?

THE STAR SCOOP:
What would you like to say to your fans?

PLUG IN STEREO (a.k.a. Trevor Dahl):
Just please pick up the EP, and follow on Twitter and Facebook. Just keep updated. We’ll be touring and putting out the album pretty soon…thank you so much!

Enisha Brewster Interview: upcoming films and goals for 2012 http://www.yourstarscoop.com/interviews/enisha-brewster-interview-upcoming-films-and-goals-for-2012/ http://www.yourstarscoop.com/interviews/enisha-brewster-interview-upcoming-films-and-goals-for-2012/#respond Fri, 09 Dec 2011 05:02:18 +0000 http://www.thestarscoop.com/?p=5747

THE STAR SCOOP:
Tell us what you’ve got going on right now, what you’re looking forward to for next year.

ENISHA BREWSTER:
There are so many amazing projects that are in the works it seems like. There are so many things to look forward to. It should be really cool to see how things fall out. I’m excited about the coming year.

THE STAR SCOOP:
It will be hard to top this year, which you closed up with the film, “Footloose.”

ENISHA BREWSTER:
I was on top of the world when I finished shooting, and then to have it have some reputable success in the box office was really wonderful, wonderful icing on the cake. It was such an amazing project to be a part of. I was thrilled.

In fact, it was my brithday weekend, opening weekend, so I had a great time! And I had just recently moved to LA at that point, so I felt like it was a wonderful welcome to LA.

THE STAR SCOOP:
You’re working on independent film, “Little Red Wagon.” Tell us more about that.

ENISHA BREWSTER:
It’s a story about this young kid who decides to not just be involved in his regular day-to-day life but get behind a really wonderful cause. I think that people are going to be excited and inspired to see a film like this. It’s one of those heartwarming stories.

I play the Marching Woman. She decides to come and join the fight and help out. I hope it gets a wide range of viewers and audiences. Whenever you have such a great cast and young leads like that [Daveigh Chase, Chandler Canterbury] it lends itself to having a wide range of audience.

THE STAR SCOOP:
We’re also really curious about your film, “The Ghost Club.”

ENISHA BREWSTER:
It kind of falls into the same genre as your “Paranormal Activity.” Way back, we had the “The Blair Witch Project” which really changed the way thriller films were shot and it how it has interacted with the audience. This film speaks to that genre. It was a lot of fun.

We shot it all at night, obviously, so long, long nights. The cast [William Forsythe, Alexandra Chen] was fun. It was crazy. We were in this historical [building] that is known to have some spooky, haunted hallways. There was plenty to give me chills. They did an amazing job with the makeup, especially.

My character, Caitlin, she’s what they call a sensitive. She’s sensitive to her surroundings, and she’s on the team because she senses when ghosts are present. They’re trying to debunk the whole theory of there being ghosts at all. I don’t want to give too much of it away.

THE STAR SCOOP:
So have you started thinking about your new years resolutions or goals?

ENISHA BREWSTER:
I think every year is a new opportunity to really get focused on your craft and yourself as an artist and really establish your place in the career that you want to be. I’m always looking for opportunities to step it up and realize more and more what my goals are. On a personal level, I have a lot of expectations for myself. I’m working on being balanced…personal things like that. Career goals are wonderful, but I think having personal goals is really what keeps be grounded.

THE STAR SCOOP:
Do you have a Facebook or Twitter you want to let us know about?

ENISHA BREWSTER:
I have both! Facebook.com/enishabrewster and twitter.com/enishabrewster
