“Rochelle” is a three-episode series about a woman who hires an escort to break her ex-husband’s heart. It premiered on Monday, August 27 on WIGS, the number one scripted channel on YouTube. The series is written by Scott Turow and directed by Rose Troche (The L Word and Safety of Objects). Rosanna Arquette (Pulp Fiction) as the ex-wife and Nazanin Boniadi (Iron Man and How I Met Your Mother) plays the escort.

Rosanna Arquette tells us about what attracted her to working on a web series. Of its appeal she said to TheStarScoop.com,

“I didn’t even think about it in those terms. It was Rodrigo Garcia, Jon Avnet incredible directors forming a studio on the Internet, and getting to do a piece
that was written by Scott Turow, which is wonderful writing.

For me, I didn’t think of it that way. I just thought of it as maybe getting the chance to do good work and that was what it was. There was nothing different about
it. It was all professional shot, with the best cinematographers, the best directors, the best actors and writers that get together and it just happens to be on the
Internet, which is pretty exciting.

So far, WIGS has 16 million viewers…almost better than a network television show. I’m so Internet un-savvy, you know? I don’t know how to do any of it. It’s geared
for a person like me. They’ve made it really accessible and easy for a middle aged woman to log on and watch any time you want, which I think is really cool.

Catherine O’Hara in Mitch Albom’s “Leslie” http://www.yourstarscoop.com/articles/catherine-ohara-in-mitch-alboms-leslie/ Mon, 20 Aug 2012 06:54:11 +0000 http://www.thestarscoop.com/?p=6006

Premiering today on WIGS, the #1 channel for drama on YouTube, is Leslie, the comic story of an aging actress, played by Catherine O’Hara (Best in Show), up for the part of a famous nun, who hopes the role will revitalize her career. When she discovers a homeless man on her doorstep, Leslie’s ability to channel the saintly figure is put to the test. Set in 1995, this two-episode series is directed by Mitch Albom (“Tuesdays with Morrie”), and written by Mitch Albom & Jesse Nesser. The series also stars Anthony “Cass” Castelow. The second episode will post on Wednesday, August 22.

Albom explains his decision to write and direct for WIGS: “I was very excited about doing this because I really think this is the way story telling is going to go…eventually all roads are going to go to the internet and telling stories through this visual medium. I just think the distribution system of being able to….make a little film and then everybody in the world can see it is ultimately going to be the way people are going to go.”

ON THE RISE: Model Julia Lescova Exclusive http://www.yourstarscoop.com/interviews/on-the-rise-model-julia-lescova-exclusive/ http://www.yourstarscoop.com/interviews/on-the-rise-model-julia-lescova-exclusive/#respond Fri, 22 Jul 2011 16:23:36 +0000 http://www.thestarscoop.com/?p=5569

Julia Lescova is one model we’ve got our eye on this summer! Her story is truly inspiring, what with her humble beginnings in Latvia to her rise on the Los Angeles Hollywood scene.

She recalls, “In the beginning, I was discovered in Latvia and offered to attend a modeling acadamey. Coming from a poor family, I had to support myself and my mother so I started working when I was 15.

It was a very interesting way for me to start working. I loved it. It was kind of exciting for a teenage girl. And then I got to Milan when I was 16 and it wasn’t that easy for a young girl in a foreign country with other little girls.

But it’s fun. It’s nice to learn to be independent from a young age and know how to survive in a foreign country and how to earn money. It teaches a lot of things for a young girl. A lot of life-school, I think. You travel a lot all the time…learn new languages and meet new people and get better at your work.

It’s good to be in a place where you have a challenge. I always want to challenge myself and I always believe in myself. But it’s still a lot of work!”

And there is no doubt that Lescova takes on and rises to challenges. Currently, she says, “I’m just working hard and looking forward to continuing what I’m doing [modeling]. I work all the time as a modeling gracing the pages of top fashion magazines.”

She adds, “I hope that I can do something in acting of course, but I have been working as a model for a long time already. And I’m good at it [laughs].”

It’s safe to say top brand GUESS agrees, considering Lescova has secured a worldwide campaign with them. “I did a lingerie campaign for Asia and Europe [for GUESS]. Kind of worldwide, but in America, the lingerie is not launched. It will be all for catalogue and everything. I’m very excited about it!”

Her sights are set high on other well-known brands, too. Lescova says, “My dream would be to do something like the swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated. However, I am really happy at this point in my career.”

Julia Lescova’s go-getter attitude is sure to land her many jobs and help her achieve continued success in this very difficult, demanding, and increasingly popular business.

Her advice to girls and women who hope to follow in her footsteps and make it big? “They should work on themselves a lot and believe in themselves, and find beauty in themselves and develop it.”

Model behavior? More like role model.

Lenka Concert Review: My Heart Skipped a Beat! http://www.yourstarscoop.com/music/lenka-concert-review/ http://www.yourstarscoop.com/music/lenka-concert-review/#respond Fri, 17 Jun 2011 15:53:29 +0000 http://www.thestarscoop.com/?p=5534 Editor’s Corner by Traci Grant

Lenka gave a marvelous show, filled with soothing, soft vocals that she mixed with occasional grit, reminding us that her voice is as strong as the messages she brings across in her music. [Editor’s note: My heart really did skip a beat, due to the immense amount of love I have for this artist!]

Performing a set list comprised mainly of new material from her second album “Two,” Lenka brought the crowd into her whimsical, childlike world for an upbeat 1.5+ hours (including the fabulous meet and greet afterwards, an absolute highlight for the fans!) in a perfectly intimate and inviting venue.

She began with superb versions of “Heart Skips a Beat” and “Roll With The Punches,” both from her latest album. Other stand-outs included the song Lenka called a lullaby: “Don’t Let me Fall,” as well as “Everything At Once” “Sad Song” and the album’s title track, “Two.” Each performance easily rivalled the previous one, and Lenka sounded just as good live as Two’s recordings, and often better.

She ended the concert with a favorite from her debut album, “The Show,” which emphatically tells listeners to “just enjoy the show.” (How about don’t end the show?!) Lenka and the audience may have been chanting the next set of lyrics from the hit song – “I want my money back!” – but there is no doubt that this show was worth every penny and then some.

Lenka is simply not to be missed and puts on a five-star show that is all about the music, no frills needed.

If you don’t have the opportunity to see her live – and even if you do – pick up Lenka’s new album, “Two.” It’s true to the style we’ve come to expect from her: unique, uplifting, keen, and unwilling to grow up, all the while helping listeners through the very tough parts of life that really do make us grow up.

Check out “Heart Skips a Beat” and “Roll With The Punches” below!

Five things to check out – week of March 28th! http://www.yourstarscoop.com/tv/five-things-to-check-out-for-the-week-of-march-28th/ http://www.yourstarscoop.com/tv/five-things-to-check-out-for-the-week-of-march-28th/#respond Sun, 27 Mar 2011 16:59:55 +0000 http://www.thestarscoop.com/?p=5353 Monday 3/28

Secret Life of the American Teenager, 8 p.m. ABC Family

“Secret Life” is one of two big premieres on ABC Family Monday night. Last time we saw the teens, Amy and Ricky were on their big date. Is he really ready to commit to Amy and John? Or will he cheat on her (like he seems to do with every girl he cares about)? His birth mom comes back into the picture, so we’ll also see how that affects his relationship with Amy.

Ashley talks to the new guidance counselor (“7th Heaven’s” Beverley Mitchell) about homeschooling (probably not a bad idea considering every girl at that high school seems to wind up preggers).

Make it or Break It, 9 p.m. ABC Family

“Make it or Break it” returns to ABC Family, and the Rock girls are having a tough time.

They should be super happy because they all made the U.S. World team (kind of a big deal), but they are dealing with some big issues. Emily was being hauled out in handcuffs after missing her court date for stealing prescription meds for her disabled brother. Kaylie passed out during the competition because she has an eating disorder.

Payson was thrilled to unexpectedly make the team, but suspended coach Sasha didn’t stay to see the results. And everyone is going to be really upset with Lauren when they find out that she sent the video of Payson kissing Sasha to Ellen Beals. (That was so messed up. How could she do that to the team -and her friend?)

And mean girl Kelly Parker is back, and she’s going to do her best to make the girls even more miserable.

Tuesday 3/29

Britney Spears, Femme Fatale, album release

Don’t call it a comeback, but Britney’s new album (most of which has leaked) is pretty awesome. It has some of her best stuff in years (“Till the World Ends” and “Gasoline” are pretty catchy). And it gives us hope for other former teen stars who let their crazy out.

Teen Mom 2, 10 p.m. MTV

Jenelle’s life is one huge mess. After using her mom’s credit cards (without her permission) to jet off to N.J. with her deadbeat boyfriend, she’s in really big trouble. And things are going to get worse – she’s about to get arrested for breaking and entering in the season finale of the show.

The teen mom also has been making headlines recently. According to TMZ, she assaulted another woman the week of March 20, and the incident was caught on video (if it’s real, it’s pretty bad). The girl needs some help.

On the flip side, Leah and Corey are getting married! We don’t usually get to see teen parents on the show in happy, functional relationships, but they seem to be figuring out a way to make it work.

Thursday 3/31

Grey’s Anatomy: The Musical Event, 9 p.m. ABC

Did anyone else yell at Callie to put her seatbelt back on at the end of last week’s episode? Or get chills when the screen went white? This week, “Grey’s” is told through Callie’s point of view (after the accident) in a special “musical event.”

Cast members (some of whom are theater veterans) will be performing songs the show has featured through the years, including Snow Patrol’s “Chasing Cars” and The Fray’s “How to Save a Life.” After some initial skepticism (did they really need to do a musical episode?), it looks like this episode could be pretty awesome.

Monday, 3/21

Dancing with the Stars, 8 p.m. ABC
Where else could you see former WWE champ Chris Jericho and Disney star Chelsea Kane on the same stage? An eclectic group of C-list stars begin competing for the coveted (and super sparkly) Mirror Ball trophy once again. The contestants also include “Fat Actress” Kirstie Alley, “Karate Kid” Ralph Macchio and former “Girl Next Door” Kendra Wilkinson.

Pretty Little Liars, 8 p.m. ABC Family
What are the odds we find out “A’s” true identity in the spring finale? … Probably pretty slim. The girls confront Jenna, who’s been causing trouble for them. Will they need her help to stop “A”? And someone’s being chased in a creepy church at night. Really, girls? After everything that’s gone down this season, common sense should tell them to avoid the creepy church. BTW, if you missed any episodes (or just want to see them again), you can watch “Pretty Little Liars” all day Monday (starting at 11 a.m.) during ABC Family’s “marathon event.”

Skins, 10 p.m. MTV
This is probably the last episode ever of the U.S. version of “Skins.” Is anyone else cheering? The show is a subpar version of its U.K. counterpart and lacks the awesome storytelling and character development that we love. But tune in to see if the season (series?) finale ends with the same crazy cliffhanger as the U.K. version (because that would be kind of messed up).

Wednesday, 3/23

America’s Next Top Model, 8 p.m. The CW
There’s some drama in the house (shocking) when one contestant reads another girl’s diary. Isn’t that kind of low – even for a reality show? That has to violate girl code. And the ladies model with wild animals – in fake fur – for Rachel Zoe’s new line. The women better shut it down; the celebrity stylist/reality TV star will serve as a guest judge

Thursday, 3/24

Jersey Shore, 10 p.m. MTV
And another summer at the Shore comes to a close (and Seaside Heights’ residents breathe a sigh of relief). One couple is going to come to some kind of “crossroads” in their relationship. It needs to be Ronnie and Sammi, and that “relationship” needs to end. It’s getting tiresome watching them fight every week. Let’s hope we see more of the other roommates in this episode because it will be a while until we see them again. When it does return, the next season of “Jersey Shore” will take place in … Italy (yeah, not really getting that either).

By Kimberly Harris for TheStarScoop.com.]]> By Kimberly Harris, Contributing Writer for TheStarScoop.com

Monday, 3/7

House, 8 p.m. Fox
Cuddy may be facing a medical crisis, and we’ll get to see deeper into her psyche with a series of dreams (possibly hallucinations?), which include a “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” scenario and … wait for it … a musical number.

While House deals with Cuddy’s issues, the team treats a teenager with strange body scars. They think his sickness may be more than just physical. When they investigate his personal life, they may uncover something more disturbing than the usual teen angst.

Greek, 9 p.m. ABC Family
Break out the tissues; it’s the series finale of “Greek.” Yup, that’s right. No more new episodes. Ever. Sigh.

The Kappa Taus need to figure out a way to save their dilapidated house from the wrecking ball. Casey and Cappie make a final decision about their relationship (fingers crossed they get the fairy tale ending). And maybe Cappie and Evan can find a way to be friends again? Or is that asking for too much?

But for the biggest reveal of all – we’ll finally find out Cappie’s real name.

Tuesday, 3/8

Glee, 8 p.m. Fox
Gwyneth Paltrow returns as McKinley High’s favorite substitute, Holly Holliday. Holly will be teaching sex ed to the kids. And she’ll even share at least one “Kiss” with Mr. Shue – as in a cover of Prince’s song. Uh oh, Emma may get jealous. How is that possible when her TV husband, Dr. Carl, is played by John Stamos?

Teen Mom 2, 10 p.m. MTV
Jo could be a top contender for worst human being on a reality show. And given some of the reality shows out there, that’s actually saying something. Jenelle and Keiffer are thinking about moving to New Jersey. Because MTV really needs another reality show set in the Garden State. Is she seriously going to leave her baby behind with her mother? It’s probably better than leaving him with Snooki.

Wednesday, 3/9

The Real World: Las Vegas, 10 p.m. MTV
It’s amazing that in 25 (yes, 25!) seasons of this reality show, the format is pretty much the same as when it started. “The Real World” heads back to Sin City, and seven strangers will live in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. They will drink, party and probably have to “work.” Can they re-create the magic that happened the first time the show filmed in Vegas? Do we really want them to? Anyone else still shudder when they hear the name Trash-elle?

Monday, 2/28

Pretty Little Liars, 8 p.m. ABC Family The authorities don’t believe the girls’ claims about Ian. Why would they? The name of the show is “Pretty Little Liars” after all. Spencer and Toby appear to be getting cozier; they definitely have sparks. If she can look past his occasional creepiness, these kids just might have a chance. You’re Cut Off, 8 p.m. VH1 In the season finale, the ladies have to prove to their benefactors that they have undergone a journey of self-growth and transformation, and they are no longer the spoiled women who got cut off … or the drama queens who got in screaming arguments and hair-pulling fights over the last eight weeks.

Thursday, 3/3

Jersey Shore, 10 p.m. MTV Sammi returns to the house. Surely, Ronnie will handle it with all his usual maturity. And are Snooki and Vinnie actually looking more and more like they are becoming a couple? What are the odds on that working out?

Friday, 3/4

Degrassi, 9 p.m. TeenNick Fitz is back! Degrassi’s bad boy has been looking for Eli and Clare. What could he want to talk to them about? We are all going to need some therapy if he causes EClare drama. Sav asks Drew to be the drummer in his band. Really, Sav? There isn’t another drummer at Degrassi? Perhaps one who didn’t cheat on your sister and break her heart? Beastly, check your local movie listings for times This “Beauty and the Beast” retelling brings the long-awaited union of “High School Musical,” “Full House” and “Doogie Howser, M.D.,” but it also showcases the hot new heartthrob from “I am Number Four” Alex Pettyfer. He stars as Kyle, a high school boy who winds up looking like a hideous monster after incurring the wrath of Kendra (welcome back to the big screen, Mary-Kate Olsen). Vanessa Hudgens is Lindy, the object of Kyle’s affection, and the always awesome Neil Patrick Harris plays his blind tutor.
